The land of "WHY???"

We have had a very busy couple of months. Scott's mom "Bebe" was married and Kristi, Grace and baby Mya were her for a couple of weeks. Evi eventually had too much "family" time (and probably didn't like sharing the limelight) and had to have a couple of days off. And true to form, she didn't really play with Grace until the last 2 days they were here. Much like in Frisco, CO, this past summer, she wouldn't even let anyone look at her until the last day. But boy were Evi & Grace cute together that last day! Of course, Scotty is chompin' at the bit to have another baby and kept asking Evi if she wanted a baby brother or sister. And she kept responding with yes, although she has no idea what he was talking about. She bawled the one time I tried to hold Mya in front of her. Still though, she likes when we see babies when we're out and about and at home she likes to pretend she's a baby, be swaddled and rocked and she makes little noises she thinks are baby noises. It is pretty sweet.

We spent a week at Gigi's to celebrate Chacha, Marni & Mali's birthdays. Evi was a waterbug the whole time. Auntie M brought the ferrets with her and Evi loves them. We went to the Science museum in H-town and they have a great butterfly exhibit. A very large butterfly landed on Mali and then Evi desperately wanted one to land on her, but it never happened. We also went to a gocart track with Grandpa T.O. or "the Dude" as he likes to be called. We almost got her on a go cart, but then she chickened out (twice). Of course she cried when we got in the car to leave until she remembered the Dude said we would get ice cream. She has a memory like an elephant, she never forgets!

Next Malachi came to stay a week with us. Which turned out not to be a whole lot of fun. Mali, Evi and I each turned up with a stomach bug and Mali seemed to get the worst of it. So we were worthless most of the week. Sorry Mali!!

Evi's getting so tall! She now can wrap a towel under her arms when she gets out of the bath and no longer trip over it. And I swear when I go on a trip, she looks completely different than what I remember when I get home! And speaking of swearing (the other meaning of the word)...Evi is quickly learning phrases and the correct way to use them. Mommy really needs to watch herself. One day I dropped something and actually said "oops" and Evi said, "why you say 'damn it'?" (and that is what I usually say when I drop something). So I informed her I actually said oops. And she now growls and says "fine" when I tell her to do something, much like her teenage auntie. Thanks Mali! And have I mentioned that we have entered the land of "WHY???" All the whys, boy do they get tiresome! But sometimes they are soo cute.

This last picture is my child done up like a street walker!! just kidding. I bought body crayons and this last pix is what it looked like when we put "make up" on.

She starts mom's-day-out at the end of August! Can't wait to tell y'all how that goes!! We have a new teacher in gymnastics and it has taken 4 classes with her to convince Evi to let Coach Emma help her and I still have to be close by. It's not going to be pretty. And I don't know who it will be harder on, her or me!
