a year and a half...

wow, she's 18 months now. let's see, she still only has 4 teeth! (one more is working it's way in at the moment) so she's a slow developer, if the same holds true for her teenage hormones, i'll be thankful! HA! she is a monkey and can now climb onto anything - including the kitchen table!! she has a backyard play set with a little rockwall that she climbed all by herself the other day. no more leaving her alone while i shower!!
we only have one word of english right now -"woof". and she calls the cat "abba". we don't know why, but that is the name she has given chloe and any other cat. she still tries to say "there it is" but it doesn't come out very clearly. oh, and she says "this" a lot, like when she's pointing to a body part she wants us to name. she is obsessed with airplanes, which is funny considering she rides in one at least 4 times a month, but i don't think she's made that connection yet. what is amazing is all that she can understand even though she doesn't talk. we've already taken to spelling things occassionally in front of her.
spring has brought several discoveries, such as bugs. she love them. especially rolly-pollies. scott and i feel so sorry for them because she almost always ends up killing them. she likes to collect as many as she can and then lets them crawl on her hand. she also has discovered earthworms(top pix), misquitoe hawks(pinched btwn her fingers in 2nd pix), spiders, silk worms, and catapillars. she does not fear any bug. for instance, she was chasing a huge stink bug around and tried to catch a wasp. i guess she'll learn her fear of bugs eventually. She also loves it when we catch lizards and put them in a bug cage. she likes to hunt them in mom's backyard. she also is obsessed with balloons and bubbles.
and no matter the weather, she wants to be outside. scott made fun of me because even in the really bad weather we've had recently, his wife and child are still outside walking the streets in rain jackets while all other children are indoors...where it's safe. and she's still into basketball and soccer. she loves to play. scott hopes she'll be his little tomboy; into sports (preferably golf) and fishing.
