Toddler Mecca

Once again, we have been way busy! We went to Raleigh to visit Evi's cousins Grace & baby Mya. Now Evi thinks every baby is a baby Mya. It was a full house with all of Kristi's & most of Michael's families there. It was also Grace's birthday and Evi did very good with lots of adults & kids running around. Or should I say kids running around with adults chasing them! We had lots of fun.

She had her first major skinned knee and it turned into all drama for several days! She was fine at first and then after we had been sitting still for a little while, she refused to put any weight on that leg. It was ridiculous! It was most of the same for the next 2 days! Having to be carried places, much like her mother did when she was little! But thank goodness for dermoplast spray and my little pony band aids.
She still knows no fear. We took her to Kemah in Houston. For those of you not from there, it's a small amusement park on a boardwalk on the water with lots of rides and restaurants and people!! Anyway, Evi loved all of it. And wanted to ride all the rides, even the ones for adults. Disney is going to be so much fun in January! I can't wait!
Conversations are a lot of fun now too. It's amazing that just a few months ago she only had a handfull of vocabulary words and now we have complete conversations. For instance, the other day I was trying to pay bills online and she was sitting next to me at the desk playing at the old computer and was asking me to do something. I told her "just a minute, mama's busy." Then I noticed her pretending to talk on the phone to me "Hi, mommy, whatcha' doin'...I'm busy" (very cats in the cradle!) So then I said "I'm busy too" and she responded with "I'm busy three" How cute!! Scott and I decided if we could freeze her at this age, we would. She is so much fun right now.
Our backyard has turned into the mecca for toddlers! A playset, a watertable, a sandbox, her trampoline (it's not out there yet, but soon), a soccer goal and a kiddiepool now that it's hot. It's perfect for my anti-social child and her mostly anti-social parents. Now we don't have to look much further than our own backyard for summer entertainment. Spoiled Rotten!!
We had olympics at gymnastics this week. Basically it just allows anyone to come watch what all they have been working on all year. Which, for Evi's age means working on listening and then having a free for all. And then at the end of class they get to step up three steps and get a trophy, which Evi has been greatly looking forward to. She posed quite nicely for Scott to take a picture and just kept on posing. I'm including several videos from this because it was just too cute. By the way, I uploaded all of the pix in small, if you want a closer look, just click on the picture. If you listen closely to the 2nd video when she does the bear crawl, you can hear her growl like a bear.
