Christmas

It's is Christmas night, 8pm and my child has already crashed HARD from her very big day!!
First of all, her mother may have gone a little overboard on gifts considering she's only 2, but in my defense I didn't buy her a singe gift for the first 2 holidays since she didn't really know what was going on and we celebrated the mornings with grandmas. This year, we had our first Christmas morning in our own home. And I ended up opening her last 2 gifts myself because she just didn't care anymore. Santa brought 2 big items, a metal old fashioned pedal car and a doll house, and she really would have been happy with just those. We had to coax her into opening the rest. It was almost painful.

Her cousin Grace has been in town this week, so Evi has had a play mate, playing with her toys, and it's been a good experience for her. Tonight they really started to play together, it was pretty cute. My child is just slightly anti-social, and has issues with her personal space.(tee-hee, I know this is somewhat normal, she's just the extreme) There are days that she cries when her dad walks in the door from work. So all the visitors we've had have received very dramatic, not so friendly welcomes from Evi. But I've learned if they will just ignore her, she'll come around quicker. This girl really needs some friends! The first day of pre-school is going to be very hard for both of us!!
By the way, her daddy taught her this pose to the left!! And the converse in the Christmas dress picture, she chose those all on her own. I was so proud!!!

Now, I know you are all very interested in how my child is fairing with her bodily functions! teehee!! We occasionally make it for shew-wee, and she always hides her face behind the shower curtain when she does it. So she wants you in there with her, but she still wants her privacy. At my mom's the other day I jokingly put the hand towel over head for privacy and it worked, she pooped! It was hilarious!!

And look who's talking now!! She says all kinds of things now, that mostly only Scott & I understand, and then sometimes even we can't! book, hurt, I help, milk, orange, apple, shoes...and of course, COOKIE!! and lots more.

One of my new years resolutions is to have her sleeping (most of the night) in her own bed by the END of the year. Quit laughing mom!! Everyone wish us luck!!
