2 YEARS OLD!!!

Evi is now 2! Of course she has been practicing to be "2" for the last week. All of a sudden she is fighting me on things she's never fought me on before. We went to 3 stores one day and she threw a fit in all three stores! I finally looked at her and said "who are you?" And the friends that I have relayed this story to just said, "welcome to the terrible two's!" GREAT!
She has chosen a few words to repeat: oval, hippo, clock, bat, and hole. All very useful words, haha! She also says thanks and up, along with a few spanish words thanks to Dora. And we are all about Dora right now.
And even though we still aren't completely able to communicate, we have attempted to potty train. It's going pretty well so far. We have got the tinkle part down. (except for when we're having too much fun) But shew-wee is a whole other thing. The poor child holds it as long as she can. For some reason she, like most kids, has a hard time adjusting to sitting. It's so funny. And I have called it shew-wee her entire life, but she spends one weekend with her dad and she
calls it poop! It's just a personal preference; but I know one day she'll say loudly in public (and she will) "I have to go poop" and I just think shew-wee will sound a little less embarrassing. And since she doesn't say "potty" or anything yet, she lets us know it's time by holding herself between her legs. Always nice!
Her birthday was a success. She made out like a bandit of course. A kitchen set to appeal to her feminine side(notice the naked chef picture!) to a soccer goal for the tomboy her father hopes is in her. And plenty more, her play room is running out of usable space. It's ridiculous that one child can acquire this much stuff in just 2 years. But I have no one to blame but myself (and maybe a couple of grandmothers.)
I was so excited about Halloween. I thought she'd really get into it. This was the first year we actually took her out. And it was a failure. We did 3 houses and she didn't care at all. But she loved answering the door and slowly handing out one piece of candy per bag. It was pretty cute.
But I was really looking forward to all the candy she would have gotten for ME if she'd liked the trick-or-treating. Oh well, guess I really didn't need any.
