23 months

Ok, so my mother informed me that my lack of capitalization when I write drives her nuts, so I will try to do it from now on (to keep from driving anyone else nuts, love 'ya mom!)
My child has decided to turn to a life of crime at the young age of 23 months. Twice in one week while I was out shopping with my mom she decided to steal things! The first was at a $.99 store, which was actually an accident. When we go shopping I let her put the items in the back of the cart and mom's purse was back there, so some hair gel accidentally made it into her purse. Now, the second time we were at another store and had let Evi out of the stroller (which our purses were in the bottom of) while we were looking at wall decor. I saw her playing with a basket that had antique looking locks in it and figured, hey, she's entertained. After we were at home, mom brought me a lock and an a single napkin ring and said she found them in her purse! So obviously I need to show my child items I would actually like to have since she's so good at pilfering them! If you happen to hear that I am arrested for shop lifting in the not too distant future, it's all my child's fault!
While we still don't really talk, we have tinkled on the potty a couple of times!! We aren't really potty-training yet, but she when she's naked we try to make it to the potty. And the other day she did it twice in one day! Hey, it's a first step. We'll see if it takes!
She also flew her first kite. Oddly enough, the wind was not sweeping down the plains hard enough that day so Scott had to run to keep it up. But she was so cute running at full speed chasing it with her head completely thrown back. We also went to Disney Princesses on Ice, and she loved the first act, but would have happy to leave at intermission. She had no interest in the second half. She sat completely still totally involved in the performance clapping and giggling.
We've been doing the mommy & me gymnastics class once a week and Evi has NO FEAR! Her favorite thing is the zip line and the trapeze bar. With both of them she gets to hang from a bar and fall into padding with the biggest smile on her face! But it has also helped her be a little less anti-social. She lets the teacher and other parents help her (which is a huge step!) and interacts with the other children a little bit too. Which is also huge because even after spending an entire week with her cousin Grace last month she was still anti-social. So maybe next time they'll play a little more. As a matter of fact, she was hugging a little girl at the park, so we are socially growing by leaps and bounds!
The soccer ball is also her favorite toy. We take it most places with us. It's funny to see this little girl carrying a ball and not a baby doll. As you can see from the picture above she even naps with it! Scott of course hopes that she'll get a college scholarship. Below is our almost nightly ritual of dribbling the ball in order to wear her out. She's actually pretty good at it!
Those damn molars are still reeking havoc! She wakes up 2 to 3 times a night and it's killing me!
I long for the days a year ago when she used to sleep through the night. Surely she'll sleep through the night again before she goes off to college!
