21 months

finally, teeth are popping up all over. she now has 3 on top(in front) and 3 on bottom(in front) and finally has one of her 1 yr molars coming in, now that she's almost 2!! Evi's kind of having a word explosion. she's got mamma and dadda down very well. and of course still all of her animal sounds. and thanks to Diego on nickelodeon, she now knows the sound a whale makes! who says tv is bad for her! but as for the rest of the english language, well... she has words she uses for certain phrases, only they are not english, they're evinese. for instance, she says "please" only it sounds nothing like please, but she makes the same sound every time. she does the same for yes and bye bye (with their own individual sounds) so she's like jodie foster in "nell" with her own language. of course her aunt mali did the same thing as a child. she would hold complete conversations with hand gestures and facial expressions as does evi, especially when riding in the car. now we can hardly get mali to shut up, so i'm not worried that someday evi too will master the english language. someday.
Evi has been trying to dress herself lately. which has been hilarious to watch. both legs in one pant leg, shoes always and i mean always on the wrong feet. she wants to completely buckle herself into her carseat without help and to pour milk into her cup without my help either. she has discovered that she can watch video of herself on my computer and loves it. she also stays up until about 9pm now, which is messing with my sanity. i like having an hour or so to do my thing and hang out with my husband after she goes to sleep, but now i'm pretty much ready to go to bed when she does. even if i nap when she does. she is just utterly exhausting.
today we went to an indoor bouncy place that is full of the blowup bouncers and slides. at first she was very afraid, but by the end mali could hardly keep up with her. needless to say, she loved it.
she is like a fish in water. i can't believe how well she took to floaties. she has a hard time keeping her mouth closed so she swallows a lot of water, but other than that she's mastered them.
and on a personal note. the bikini bootcamp i did last month had great results. of course i haven't done much since, but my clothes definitely fit better at the end of the month. if only it wasn't early in the morning! anyway, i highly recommend trying it out if you have one in your area.
