Thanksgiving

Well, we're talking...some. She's got "mama get up!" down good. And there are several words in spanish she says better than most of her english words, thank you Dora.
It's official. She's sleeping with us for the rest of her life. I used to be able to rock her and lay her down in her own bed for naps, and she would at least start out there most of the time at night. But now she just wants me to lay down with her in my bed. Don't even think of trying it in her bed. It doesn't go over well. But, at the end of the day I love having her in bed with me. She's my little snuggle bug, and she won't be sweet and little like this for long. And naps occur later in the day (which doesn't help her 9pm bedtime) when she finally just can't stay up anymore and accidentally falls asleep. I think I'd rather her not nap at this point and go to bed around 8. But of course, she has her own agenda.
Potty training has gone pretty good. She's very good with number 1, unless I leave her for the weekend with her daddy. Then she wets her pants a lot. I don't know if it's because daddy misses the cues (the potty dance) or if she's having too much fun with daddy she doesn't realize she has to go until it's too late. And Evi's getting the hang of going shew-wee in the potty. It's glorious! Although she wakes up once sometimes twice a night to potty. That's not so glorious. Nor were the 20 stops at the potty in the mall within 20 minutes and she still wouldn't go.

Now, teething is still the same. I hate it. She is STILL working on those same 4- 1 year molars!!
At the rate she teethes, we'll be at it for ever! You can get a great glimpse of those molars in the Santa photo we took Thanksgiving weekend. Keeping with tradition, Marni Mali and I take a photo with the big man every year. The last couple of years we've thrown Evi in with us. Last year we took photos without her even knowing Santa was there, this year, she was a little more on top of it. She was scared to death of him. And we still have to do her solo photo. That should be quite entertaining! It's amazing what a good grip someone so little can have on your neck.
The little boy in the photo is our cousin Lucas, my aunt Patti's little boy. They of course had nothing to do with each other until it was time to go, then they were all kisses and hugs. It's pretty cute. The video I'm attaching is an oldie but a goody. About a year old. The other little girl in the video is Evi's cousin (Scott's sister's little girl) Grace. Grace is about 16 months, and Evi is about 10 months. Let's just lead it with this statement...NAPTIME!!!! Enjoy!
